Since 1966, it has decreased by 3% year on year. In 2021, Mauritius ranked 81st in coconut production, with Belize overtaking it at 688 metric tons. India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka respectively were the second, third and fourth largest producers in this ranking. In 2018, Mauritius imported close to 3,000 metric tons of coconuts, compared to 3,000 metric tons in 2017.
