Since 2017, the country's demand for coconuts has decreased by 0.4% on average each year. India's coconut production is expected to reach 17.6 million metric tons by 2026, increasing by 1.9% each year on average. Since 1966, the country's supply of coconuts has risen by 6.7% annually. India is the second-largest producer of coconut in 2021, behind Indonesia which produces 15.7 million metric tons. The Philippines and Sri Lanka are the third and fourth-largest producers, respectively.
