Peruvian coconut imports are projected to decrease slightly over the next five years. In 2021, they are expected to reach 32.8 thousand metric tons, a 0.1% decline compared to 2020. Since 2017, Peruvian demand has decreased by 1% on an annual basis. Meanwhile, Peruvian coconut production is expected to increase steadily over the same period. By 2026, it is projected to reach 37,470 metric tons, growing 1.1% on an average year-on-year basis since 1966. In 2021, the country ranked 36th in the world, falling behind Guinea-Bissau with 35,100 metric tons. India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka respectively ranked second, third and fourth in this ranking.
