Nicaragua has overtaken Dominican Republic’s production with 6,470 metric tons. India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka are the top producers in the world, ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. In 2018, Dominican coconut imports totaled 1 thousand metric tons, similar to 2017.
