Mexican coconut import is projected to increase by 1.6% year on year, reaching 32.7 thousand metric tons by 2026. This follows a period of relative stability since 2017. Meanwhile, production of coconuts in Mexico is expected to grow by 0.7% year on year, hitting 1.38 million metric tons by 2026. This follows an upward trend since 1966, when production increased by an average of 0.9% year on year. In 2021, Mexico was the seventh-largest producer of coconuts, with Vietnam overtaking the country to take the top spot with 1.33 million metric tons. India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka ranked second, third and fourth, respectively.
