Coconut production is projected to reach 2.6 million metric tons by 2026, down 1% from 2.7 million metric tons in 2021. Since 2001, the supply of coconuts has grown at an average rate of 2.6% annually. The Bahamas was the top producer in 2021, with 2.7 million metric tons. India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka came in second, third and fourth, respectively. Import of coconuts was nearly 3 million metric tons in 2018, down from 3 million metric tons in 2017.
