Sri Lankan coconut imports are expected to reach 1.6 million metric tons by 2026, a slight growth of 0.2% from the current level of 1.6 million metric tons in 2021. Since 2017, demand for Sri Lankan coconuts has decreased by 0.3% year-on-year. Meanwhile, Sri Lankan coconut production is expected to reach a total of 2.5 million metric tons by 2026, growing at an average rate of 0.7% year-on-year since 2021. The country was ranked fourth in 2021, with the Philippines leading the ranking at 2.4 million metric tons, followed by India and Sri Lanka respectively.
