Nepal's coconut imports dropped 25% in 2021 to 3,000 metric tons, down from 4,000 metric tons in 2020. Demand has been relatively stable since 2017. Coconut production in Nepal is expected to grow 1.4% year-on-year to 509 metric tons by 2026 from 469 metric tons in 2021. Since 2003, supply has increased by an average of 7% year-on-year. Nepal ranked 82nd in the world for coconut production in 2021, behind Mauritius at 469 metric tons. India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka respectively ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
