Malaysia’s coconut import is predicted to reach 223,000 metric tons by 2026, up 1.3% year on year. This is an increase from 205,000 metric tons in 2021. Since 2017, demand has grown by 1.9% annually. Meanwhile, Malaysian coconut production is forecast to fall by 1% year on year to 478,780 metric tons by 2026. This is a decrease from 509,160 metric tons in 2021. Since 1966, production has increased by 0.2% year on year. Malaysia ranked 11th in 2021, overtaken by Myanmar with 509,160 metric tons. India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka were numbers 2, 3 and 4 in this ranking, respectively.
