Banana production in Comoros is set to decline sharply over the next five years. In 2021, the country was the 74th-largest banana producer, with 18,220 metric tons. This figure is projected to drop to 6,300 metric tons by 2026. On average, the decline is expected to be 17.3% year-on-year. Since 1966, Comoros' banana output has decreased by an average of 12.2% annually. It has been overtaken in the production rankings by Dominica, which produced 18,220 metric tons in 2021. The top three producers in 2021 were China, Indonesia and Brazil with 2, 3 and 4 ranking respectively.
