Belize's banana industry is set to increase by 0.4% annually over the next five years, according to recent figures. This follows an upward trend since 1966, with a total growth rate of 3.4% year on year. In 2021, Belize was ranked 59th in banana production, with a total of 85,420 metric tons. The Republic of the Congo was in first place with 83,610 metric tons. China, Indonesia and Brazil came in second, third and fourth, respectively.
