Australia currently sits in 37th place in the global ranking of 2021 banana consumption, behind Iran's 373,000 tonnes. China, Indonesia and Brazil are in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively. Australian banana production is also set to increase to 359,310 tonnes by 2026, a rise of 0.9% year-on-year on average since 1966. Australia is currently in 37th place in the global ranking of 2021 banana production, behind Morocco's 343,870 tonnes. China, Indonesia and Brazil are in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively.
