Maltese banana consumption is set to reach 10,000 metric tons by 2026. The average year-on-year growth rate is 2.1%, with demand having increased 4% each year since 2017. In 2021, Malta was ranked 117th in terms of banana consumption, with Cyprus coming in ahead of them at 9,000 metric tons. The top three countries in the ranking were China, Indonesia and Brazil.
