Estonians are set to eat more bananas. The demand for the yellow fruit is expected to reach 23 thousand metric tons by 2026. This is 0.9% more than the 21 thousand metric tons consumed in 2021. Since 2017, Estonian demand has grown by an average of 1.6% each year. In 2021, the country was ranked 102nd in terms of banana consumption. Latvia overtook Estonia with 21 thousand metric tons. China, Indonesia and Brazil ranked second, third, and fourth respectively.
