Consumption of bananas in the United Arab Emirates is projected to reach 180,000 metric tons by 2026. In 2021, it was 166,000 metric tons, representing a year-on-year average growth of 1.7%. Since 2017, Emirati demand has increased by 2.8% annually. Portugal is currently ahead at 166,000 metric tons, while China, Indonesia and Brazil are ranked second, third, and fourth in the ranking. Production of bananas in the UAE is expected to reach 216,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 207,000 metric tons in 2021, with a compound annual growth rate of 0.7%. Since 1983, Emirati supply has grown by 1% each year. Montserrat currently leads the ranking with 207,000 metric tons, followed by China, Indonesia, and Brazil.
