Uzbekistan's wine consumption is projected to decline significantly over the next five years. By 2028, consumption is expected to drop to approximately 7,200 metric tons, down from around 10,000 metric tons in 2023. This marks an average annual decrease of 5.6%. Since 2019, the country's wine demand has already been decreasing at an average rate of 6.5% per year. In 2023, Uzbekistan ranked 63rd globally in wine consumption, with Israel surpassing it at the same consumption level of 10,000 metric tons. France, the United States, and Italy took the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively, in global wine consumption rankings. On the production side, Uzbekistan's wine output is also set to decline. By 2028, production is expected to fall to about 15,800 metric tons, down from roughly 19,900 metric tons in 2023. This represents an average annual decrease of 3.6%. Since 1997, the country's wine production has been declining at an average rate of 3.3% per year. In 2023, Uzbekistan ranked 38th in global wine production, with Belgium slightly ahead at the same production level of around 19,900 metric tons. France, Spain, and the United States occupied the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively, in terms of wine production.
