In terms of global rankings, France, the United States, and Italy occupy the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively, in wine consumption. On the production front, British wine output is expected to drop sharply. By 2019, production is projected to plummet to 92 metric tons, a significant decline from 425 metric tons recorded in 2014. This represents an average annual decrease of 25.5%. The trend has been consistently downward since 1986, with British wine supply shrinking at an annual rate of 19.6%.
