Belgian wine consumption is set to reach 324,000 metric tons by 2026, according to a recent study. This is a 0.7% year-on-year growth from 2021's figure of 306,000 metric tons, though consumption has seen a 1.9% decrease since 2017. Last year, the Netherlands overtook Belgium with 306,000 metric tons and took the top spot. France, the United States and Italy followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively. Belgian wine production is set to reach 25,370 metric tons by 2026, a 3.2% year-on-year growth from 2021's figure of 20,620 metric tons. Since 2005, production has seen a 2.2% increase. Last year, Uzbekistan overtook Belgium with 20,620 metric tons and took 38th place. France, Spain and the United States followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively. In 2019, Belgium was in 15th place with €37 million. Italy, Spain and Germany followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively.
