Austria stood in ninth place in 2021, surpassed by Romania at €205.2 million. Italy, Spain and Germany came in second, third and fourth, respectively. Austrian wine consumption is expected to dip 1.1% a year on average to 213,320 metric tons in 2026 from 225,150 metric tons in 2021. Since 2017, demand has dropped 1.3% each year. Austria was in twentieth place in 2021, behind Hungary at 225,150 metric tons. France, the United States and Italy placed second, third and fourth, respectively. Production of Austrian wine is forecast to fall 0.6% annually to 207,880 metric tons in 2026 from 212,010 metric tons in 2021. Since 1966, supply has increased 1.7% a year. Austria was seventeenth in 2021, overtaken by Greece at 212,010 metric tons. France, Spain and the United States ranked second, third and fourth, respectively.
