In 2021, Romania ranked 8th, overtaken by Hungary at €222.96 million. Italy, Spain and Germany were 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively in this ranking. Consumption of Romanian wine is projected to drop 7.9% year-on-year to 134.67 thousand metric tons by 2026. Since 2017, demand has decreased by 3.8% annually. In 2021, Romania was 22nd, overtaken by Sweden at 212.8 thousand metric tons. France, the US and Italy ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Finally, production of Romanian wine is expected to decrease by 34.8% year-on-year to 13,110 metric tons by 2026. Since 1966, supply has dropped by 17.3% annually. Romania was 19th in 2021, surpassed by Moldova at 127,570 metric tons. France, Spain and the US placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
