Since 1997, Slovenia's wine production has been on a downward trend, decreasing by 3% each year. In 2023, Slovenia was the 40th largest wine producer, with Azerbaijan overtaking it at 15,660 metric tons. Topping the production ranking were France, Spain, and the United States.
