Belarusian wine consumption is projected to slightly increase to approximately 80,150 metric tons by 2028, up from 80,000 metric tons in 2023. This translates to a modest average annual growth rate of 0.1%. However, since 2019, wine demand in Belarus has been on a slight decline, averaging a 0.3% decrease each year. In the global ranking of wine consumption for 2023, Belarus held the 32nd position, with Norway surpassing it at the same consumption level of 80,000 metric tons. Leading the list were France, the United States, and Italy, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots respectively. On the production front, Belarusian wine output is expected to reach around 39,490 metric tons by 2028, rising from 35,640 metric tons in 2023. This marks an annual growth rate of 1.7%. Historical data shows a more robust increase in wine production, with a 2.2% yearly rise since 1997. In terms of production volume for 2023, Belarus also ranked 32nd, with Croatia overtaking it at 35,640 metric tons. Prominent wine producers such as France, Spain, and the United States were the second, third, and fourth largest producers, respectively.
