European consumption of red wine is expected to reach nearly two billion liters by 2026. This is a slight decrease of 0.2% compared to 2021. Since 2016, demand has fallen by 1% annually. In 2021, France was the leading consumer at almost 870 million liters. Spain, Germany, and the UK followed, in that order. The UK increased by 2.1% annually since 2016, while Slovenia experienced a drop of 5.3%.
