Bulgarian imports of champagne are set to reach 179,000 liters by 2026, growing at an average of 3.9% year on year. This is a marked increase since 2007 when demand was 23.5% higher than it was that year. In 2021, Bulgaria ranked 23rd in the global ranking of champagne imports, coming in behind Slovakia which imported 142,180 liters. Germany, Belgium, and Italy respectively came in second, third, and fourth. Bulgarian exports of champagne are also on the rise and are projected to reach 2,530 liters by 2026, growing at a CAGR of 0.4% year on year. Since 2007, supply has increased by 7.6% year on year. In 2021, Hungary overtook Bulgaria in the global ranking of champagne exports with 2,470 liters, placing Bulgaria 23rd. The Netherlands, Germany, and Italy respectively ranked second, third, and fourth.
