Malagasy eggplant production is set to rise to around 2,500 metric tons by 2026. This marks an increase of 1.8% per year since 1966. Malagasy production currently stands at 2,230 metric tons, ranking 62nd in the world. This is slightly behind Fiji, who have 2,230 metric tons. India, Egypt and Iran are the top three producers, in that order.
