Japanese eggplant production is set to drop by 1.4% year on year, reaching 267,210 metric tons by 2026. This follows a 1.1% decrease since 1966. In 2021, Japan was the seventh largest producer, behind Italy's 290,080 metric tons. India, Egypt, and Iran were the second, third, and fourth largest producers, respectively.
