Rwandan eggplant production is projected to drop by 4.5% annually over the next five years. In 2021, the country's output amounted to about 17,400 metric tons. Since 2005, the supply has decreased by a mere 0.1% per year on average. Rwanda currently holds the 41st spot in the global ranking of major eggplant producers. The Dominican Republic has overtaken the country, with an output of about 23,000 metric tons. India, Egypt and Iran rank second, third and fourth, respectively.
