Iraq's eggplant production is expected to decline significantly over the next five years. In 2021, the country ranked 20th in the world with 83,280 metric tons of eggplant produced. That figure is projected to drop to just 563.98 metric tons in 2026, representing a 61.9% year-on-year decrease. Since 1966, Iraq's eggplant output has been decreasing at a rate of 4.1% annually. Azerbaijan led the way in 2021 with 83,280 metric tons, followed by India, Egypt and Iran in second, third and fourth place respectively.
