Kenyan demand for beans is set to increase modestly over the next five years. By 2026, consumption is projected to reach around 650,000 metric tons. This is up from 616,000 metric tons in 2021. On an annual basis, demand for beans is expected to grow at a rate of 0.9% between 2021 and 2026. In 2021, Kenya was the seventh-largest beans consumer in the world. Uganda overtook them with 616,000 metric tons. Brazil, Mexico, and the United States were the top three consumers, respectively. Meanwhile, production of beans in Kenya is projected to decline over the next five years. By 2026, output is expected to reach 38,200 metric tons, down 0.7% from the 2021 level of 39,870 metric tons. Since 1995, production of beans in Kenya has decreased by 1.2% on an annual basis.
