Costa Rica is set to consume 55,000 metric tons of beans in 2026, a 0.4% increase from 2021. This is a slight uptick from 2017, when the country saw a 0.6% increase in consumption. In 2021, Costa Rica was ranked 40th in the world for bean consumption, with South Africa in the lead at 54,000 metric tons. Brazil, Mexico and the United States followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Costa Rican bean production is set to reach 658.44 metric tons by 2026. This is a 2.3% increase from 2021 and a 3.9% increase since 2002.
