Consumption of beans in Bulgaria is expected to reach 9 thousand metric tons by 2026. In 2021, the country came in at 72nd with 10 thousand metric tons, lagging behind Russia at number 1 (with 10 thousand metric tons). Brazil, Mexico and the United States followed with the next highest levels of consumption. Production of beans in Bulgaria, however, saw a sharp decline in 2021, with 504 metric tons compared to 817 metric tons the year before. This represents a drop of 38.3%. Since 1966, production has decreased by an average of 35.9% each year.
