Spain is expected to experience a decrease in its trout imports over the next five years. According to estimates, imports of the fish will reach 1,063,200 kilograms by 2026, a 2% decrease from 2021's figure of 1.18 million kilograms. Since 1994, the country has seen a 16% year-on-year decline in demand. Exports of Spanish trout are projected to increase over the same period, rising to 4.8 million kilograms by 2026. This would represent a 2% year-on-year compound annual growth rate and a 0.6% decrease since 1994. Denmark is the top exporter of trout in 2021, with 4.2 million kilograms, followed by Sweden, the United Kingdom and Italy.
