Belgium's trout imports and exports are set to decline over the next five years. Imports will drop from 293,380 kilograms in 2021 to 264,160 kilograms in 2026, a decrease of 2% year on year. This follows an upward trend seen since 2004, where imports have grown at a rate of 3.4% each year. Exports will also fall, dropping from 552,880 kilograms in 2021 to 544,770 kilograms in 2026. This is a decrease of 0.5% year on year - a sharp contrast to the 4.5% year on year decline since 2004. In 2021, Belgium came in at number 17 in the global ranking of trout exporters, with Chile taking the top spot. Sweden, the United Kingdom and Italy followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
