Moldavian processed fish exports are set to reach nearly 4,000 kilograms by 2026, growing at an average of 3.7% annually since 1999. In 2021, Moldova ranked 83rd in the world for exports, with 3,140 kilograms. Ghana held the number one spot, followed by Thailand, Slovenia and Spain. Meanwhile, Moldova's imports of processed fish are expected to reach 1.07 million kilograms by 2026, though the rate of growth has been stagnant in recent years. Last year, Moldova ranked 53rd in the world for imports, with 1,089,800 kilograms. Swaziland beat Moldova, with Italy, France and Spain rounding out the top four.
