The country's demand for the product has grown by an average of 16% each year since 2001. In 2021, Azerbaijan ranked 71st in the world for processed fish imports. Brunei was ahead in the same ranking, with 349,000 kilograms imported. Italy, France and Spain respectively followed as the 2nd, 3rd and 4th largest importers.
