Export of crabs from China is expected to reach over 42 million kilograms by 2026, a 1.3% average annual increase since 1997. In 2021, the country ranked third in the world, with 39.5 million kilograms, behind Russia, which overtook China. Russia, China and Bahrain respectively were ranked second, third and fourth. Import of crabs to China is set to remain flat at around 24 million kilograms by 2026, with a 0.6% average annual decrease since 1997. In 2021, South Korea took the lead with 23.9 million kilograms. South Korea, China and Japan were respectively ranked second, third and fourth.
