The import and export of Indian crabs is set to rise in the coming years. According to estimates, the import of Indian crabs will increase by 0.4% year on year, from 24,000 kilograms in 2021 to 24,560 kilograms in 2026. This is an 11.5% increase since 2004. In terms of export, Indian crabs are projected to decrease by 21%, from 980,460 kilograms in 2020 to 774,300 kilograms in 2021. This is an 18.7% decrease since 1993. In 2021, India was ranked 51st in terms of imports, with Brunei coming ahead at 24,000 kilograms. South Korea, China and Japan were respectively ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th. India was ranked 24th in terms of exports, with Madagascar leading the way at 774,300 kilograms. Russia, China and Bahrain were respectively ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
