Britain is set to become one of the world's leading importers and exporters of crab in the coming years. Imports are projected to reach 1.7 million kilograms by 2026, having grown at an average rate of 1.8% since 2021. This is an increase of 4.3% since 1998. Italy led the 2021 rankings with 1.5 million kilograms, with South Korea, China and Japan respectively in the second, third and fourth positions. Exports are expected to reach 7 million kilograms by 2026, having grown at an average rate of 2.6% since 2021. This is an increase of 5.6% since 1998. Chile led the 2021 rankings with 5.9 million kilograms, with Russia, China and Bahrain respectively in the second, third and fourth positions.
