South African exports of crab are projected to reach about 20,000 kilograms by 2026, a 0.5% yearly increase from 2021's total of 18,910 kilograms. This is a 4% yearly rise since 2005. In 2021, Austria led the way with 18,910 kilograms, while South Africa came in at number 44. Russia, China and Bahrain followed in second, third and fourth place in the rankings. Meanwhile, South African crab imports are expected to reach around 650,000 kilograms by 2026, growing at a rate of 1.7% each year since 2021's 591,120 kilograms. This is a 4.1% yearly rise since 2005. Last year, Norway topped the chart with 591,120 kilograms, while South Africa was in twentieth place. South Korea, China and Japan came in second, third and fourth place in the rankings.
