This marks an average annual growth rate of 2.8% since 2021, when imports totaled 764,000 kilograms. Since 1997, the demand in Ireland has grown by an average of 1.1% annually. In 2021, Ireland ranked 17th in the world for crab imports, with Bahrain overtaking at 764,000 kilograms. South Korea, China and Japan followed respectively as the second, third and fourth largest importers of crab. On the other hand, Irish supply of crab is expected to reach 5.97 million kilograms by 2026, representing a CAGR of 1.7% since 2021, when exports totaled 5.37 million kilograms. Since 1997, the supply in Ireland has grown by an average of 5.9% annually. In 2021, Ireland ranked tenth in the world for crab exports, with the United Kingdom coming in first at 5.37 million kilograms. Russia, China and Bahrain respectively followed as the second, third and fourth largest exporters of crab.
