Lithuanian crab imports are set to rise to nearly 490,000 kilograms by 2026, up from about 393,000 kilograms in 2021, an average annual growth rate of 3.3 percent. Demand for the crustaceans has grown 6.9 percent year on year since 1999. The country was twenty-fourth in the rankings in 2021, with Belgium taking the top spot at 393,000 kilograms. South Korea, China, and Japan followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Lithuanian crab exports dropped to 751 kilograms in 2018, down from 1,090 kilograms in 2017, a decrease of 30.7 percent on the previous year. Since 1999, exports have risen 21.9 percent year on year.
