Burmese imports of crab are projected to reach 70,700 kilograms by 2026, up from nearly 60,000 kilograms in 2021. Over the past four years, demand has grown by 29%. In 2021, Austria was the largest importer of Burmese crab, with 59,810 kilograms. South Korea, China and Japan followed. Burmese exports of crab are expected to reach 6.8 million kilograms by 2026, down slightly from 7 million kilograms in 2021. Since 2015, supply has declined by 13%. In 2021, Bahrain was the largest exporter of Burmese crab, followed by Russia, China and Bahrain.
