Mauritian paperboard exports are projected to drop by 7.9% year on year on average until 2026, going from 613 metric tons in 2021 to 429 metric tons by the end of the period. Since 1997, exports have decreased by 2.3% year on year. Mauritius was ranked 119th in 2021, overtaken by Sao Tome and Principe. The United States, Sweden and Finland were the top three exporting countries. Imports of paperboard to Mauritius are expected to fall by 0.4% year on year until 2026, from 36,020 metric tons in 2021 to 37,540 metric tons. Since 1966, imports have decreased by 2.2% year on year. Madagascar was ranked 112th in 2021, ahead of Mauritius. Germany, the United States and Italy were the main importers.
