Sales of paperboard in Britain are set to drop to €1.9 billion by 2026, down 3.7% on the 2021 figure of €2.3 billion. Since 2013, the British market has been in decline, with a 3.1% year-on-year decrease. Portugal overtook Britain in 2021, coming in at number 10, while Finland, Sweden and Austria came in at numbers 2, 3 and 4 respectively. British paperboard exports are forecast to reach 814,770 metric tons by 2026, down 1.2% on the 2021 figure of 875,010 metric tons. Since 1966, British supply has grown 2.9% year-on-year. The Czech Republic overtook Britain in 2021 at number 27, while the United States, Sweden and Finland respectively were numbers 2, 3 and 4 in the ranking. Imports of paperboard into Britain are set to decrease to 4.3 million metric tons by 2026, down 2% on the 2021 figure of 4.8 million metric tons. Since 1966, British demand has decreased by 2.9% year-on-year. Italy came in at number 5 in 2021, overtaking Britain, while Germany, the United States and Italy respectively were numbers 2, 3 and 4 in the ranking.
