Uruguay's paperboard import is expected to reach nearly 59,000 metric tons by 2026. This figure is a slight decrease from the 2021 level of 58,450 metric tons, which puts Uruguay in 99th place in the global rankings, behind Qatar. Germany, the United States and Italy rank 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively. Meanwhile, Uruguayan paperboard exports saw a slight increase in 2020, reaching 3,000 metric tons. This is 0.3% higher than in 2019 and is despite a 42.1% decrease since 1973. Uruguay is 95th in the world rankings, behind Gabon in 1st. The United States, Sweden and Finland occupy the 2nd, 3rd and 4th spots, respectively.
