Irish paperboard export is predicted to drop to 18,500 metric tons by 2026, down from 25,000 metric tons in 2021. This rate of decline of nearly 5% per year has been continuous since 1966, when export had decreased by 15%. Ireland ranked 62nd in 2021, with Tanzania leading the way with 25,000 metric tons. The United States, Sweden and Finland followed in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively. Irish paperboard import is expected to reach around 373,000 metric tons by 2026, down from 385,000 metric tons in 2021. This slight decrease of 0.5% per year has been consistent since 1966, when the demand had fallen by 1.6%. Ireland ranked 56th in 2021, with New Zealand ahead of them with 385,000 metric tons. Germany, the United States and Italy followed in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively.
