Lao paperboard exports are set to rise by 2.3% a year until 2026, with an increase of 52.5% since 1997. In 2021, the country came in 112th place, overtaken by Brunei with 734 metric tons. The US, Sweden and Finland ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Meanwhile, Lao paperboard imports are anticipated to grow at an average rate of 3.9% annually until 2026, with an 11.5% increase since 1966. Last year, the country was 94th in the rankings, with Macedonia overtaking it at 65,800 metric tons. Germany, the US and Italy took the second, third and fourth spots respectively.
