Exports of paperboard from the United Arab Emirates are expected to reach nearly 485,000 metric tons by 2026, according to a recent report. This is a 3.8% increase from 2021, when exports totaled 381,000 metric tons. Since 1997, the country's exports have grown by an average of 23.9% each year. In 2021, the UAE was the 37th largest exporter of paperboard, with New Zealand ahead at 381,000 metric tons. The United States, Sweden and Finland were ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. Imports of paperboard to the UAE are expected to reach 1.2 million metric tons by 2026, according to the same report. This is a 2% increase from 2021, when imports amounted to 1.07 million metric tons. Since 1997, the country's demand for paperboard has grown by 7.3% each year. In 2021, the UAE was the 24th largest importer of paperboard, with South Korea surpassing 1.07 million metric tons. Germany, the United States and Italy were ranked second, third and fourth, respectively.
