Bolivian coffee consumption is projected to rise to approximately 27,000 metric tons by 2028, up from 25,000 metric tons in 2023, marking an annual growth rate of 0.9%. Since 2019, the country has seen a yearly increase in demand of 0.8%. In 2023, Bolivia ranked 52nd in global coffee consumption, just behind Lebanon at 25,000 metric tons. The United States, Germany, and Japan held the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively. On the production front, Bolivia's coffee output is expected to decline to around 54,000 bags of 60 kg by 2028, down from approximately 68,000 bags in 2023. This represents an average annual decrease of 3.5%. Since 1995, Bolivian coffee supply has been decreasing at a rate of 3.9% per year. In 2023, Bolivia was ranked 35th in coffee production, with Yemen surpassing it at around 68,000 bags. Vietnam, Colombia, and Indonesia ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively, in global coffee production.
