However, since 2019, the nation's coffee demand has declined by nearly 5% each year. In 2023, India was ranked 86th globally for coffee consumption, with Panama surpassing it at the same consumption level. Leading the global rankings, the United States, Germany, and Japan secured the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively. In terms of production, India is anticipated to produce 5,870 thousand bags of 60 kg by 2028, an increase from 5,690 thousand bags in 2023. This represents an average annual growth rate of 0.5%. Since 1995, India's coffee supply has seen a yearly increase of approximately 1.4%. In the 2023 rankings, India stood at seventh place, with Ethiopia slightly ahead, also producing 5,690 thousand bags of 60 kg. Vietnam, Colombia, and Indonesia occupied the second, third, and fourth positions in coffee production globally.
